HAMILTON, ON – Laurier kicker Nathan Mesher (Waterloo, Ont.) was responsible for 12 of the Golden Hawk’s 18 points Saturday, on his way to OUA Special Teams Player of the Week honours.

The first-year Business student-athlete connected on a field goal from 47 yards out, the second longest boot in OUA this season. Mesher is now 9 for 10 this season, which ties him for the second best kicking percentage in the league.  He finished the afternoon a perfect 4-for-4.

The 6’0″ 165 lbs kicker also improved his punting game in the 22-18 loss to Windsor, averaging 41.1 yards per punt, eight yards better than his average entering the game.

Laurier will now travel across town to take on the rival Waterloo Warriors in the “Battle of Waterloo” Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm.
