Laurier Football is pleased to announce the commitment of kicker Nathan McLean, of St Mary’s High School and the Cambridge Lions of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

McLean led the OVFL in kickoff distance average in 2015, racking up 61.2 yards per kick, along with field goals made, recording eight. McLean also logged significant playing time at wide receiver for the Lions, finishing with 13 catches for 211 yards (long of 55 yards), two touchdowns and an average of 16.2 yards per catch. Nathan will study business at Laurier.

“Nathan has a powerful leg and can consistently kickoff inside the opponents ten yard line, which is an area we are looking to improve in 2016. He will continue to develop his accuracy on field goals,” said Dwayne Cameron, Laurier’s Special Teams Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator/Defensive Backs Coach.
