Three former Laurier Golden Hawks football players will have a part in the 103rd Grey Cup which will be decided Sunday night in Winnipeg.

Justin Phillips is a defensive lineman with the Redblacks. Rookie kicker Ronnie Pfeffer also plays for Ottawa.

You will see Shamawd Chambers on the field as well, he plays wide receiver for the Edmonton Eskimos.

Chambers was drafted by Edmonton in 2012 and has known since then that the team had potential: “We just have to finish this…Nothing would have mattered, you know, throughout this whole season is getting to this moment and not finishing what we started, so that’s just what we’re going to have to do.”

Chambers tells 570 News he has received some messages from former teammates at Laurier, but he’s trying to keep his phone off and focus on the task at hand.

Phillips is in his 8th year in the CFL. He won a Grey Cup with Calgary in 2008.

The game starts at 6pm EST.
