Former defensive MVP added to roster

keegan brandLaurier Football is pleased to announce the commitment of Keegan Brand, a 5’11 190lb dime linebacker formerly of Paul Dwyer High School in Oshawa, Ontario.

Originally a member of Laurier’s 2015 recruiting class, Brand was the 2014 Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) defensive MVP award winner.

He was a dual offensive/defensive threat in that season, which included scoring two long touchdowns (both were called back) in Paul Dwyer’s near stunning comeback in their OFSSA Bowl Game versus the London Lucas Vikings (which was captained by current Golden Hawk and OUA all-rookie team member, Scott Hutter).

“Keegan is an exceptional athlete who will be a valuable asset on defense at the dime and on special teams with his speed and toughness,” said Laurier Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Cameron, adding that Brand brings speed and a physical presence that will fit in well with the Laurier defensive unit.
