Laurier Football is pleased to announce the commitment of fullback Ben Hamber.
Standing 6’2″ tall and 225 lbs from London South High School, Hamber is a two-time Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA – London) Conference All-Star. He was an effective two-way starter for the Lions, playing both the fullback and defensive end positions.
Hamber had a major role in South’s undefeated regular season (6-0) and their march to the TVRA Conference Championship Game where they eventually lost to perennial powerhouse program A.B. Lucas HS (and fellow incoming Laurier Football commit QB Tristan Arndt).
Laurier Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Cameron says Hamber brings versatility and flexibility to the Golden Hawks offense.
“For Ben, his size at almost 6’3 and 225 lbs, make him a suitable candidate to play on the line of scrimmage at the tight end position and his athleticism and experience allow him to play fullback out of the backfield as well,” said Cameron.
Regarding his decision to attend Laurier, Hamber chose Laurier “because of its outstanding reputation in both academics and athletics.”
“I’m excited to be a part of an excellent football program and a great student body,” said Hamber, who has already received acceptance into Laurier’s renowned Lazaridis School Of Business and Economics.
