Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

We are thrilled to announce that Paul Giannelia will be our keynote speaker for the 17th Annual Friends of Golden Hawk Football Reception and Dinner (see poster below). The dinner will once again be presented by Sun Life Financial and will be held on Thursday, April 28th at Bingemans Conference Centre in Kitchener.

Paul, along with being a proud alum and supporter of Laurier Athletics, is the President & CEO of SC Infrastructure and he was also the Project Director of Canada’s Confederation Bridge, which joins New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island and is just under 13 kilometers long.

The night will also include celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1991 Vanier Cup winning team and the 50th anniversary of the great 1966 team that played in the College Bowl. To attend this great event, you can purchase your tickets/table here:

Here’s what is happening

In the past week, we have added two fullbacks from London. Both of these players played defensive line and fullback in high school and immediately add size and toughness to that position.

Ben Hamber: 6’2” 225 from London South

Cal Taylor: 6’3” 210 from Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School

$33,666 and counting! THANK YOU!

Our goal at the beginning of the year of surpassing $33,000 has been accomplished. Thank you to all that have helped us reach this goal. It helps our program greatly and we are closing the gap with the OUA’s top teams.
