Austin Reusch

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

Good luck to defensive back Austin Reusch who will take part in the CFL Regional Combine Thursday, March 10th in Toronto. On the field, Austin’s work ethic is hard to match and he has earned this opportunity with that desire to succeed. This is no different than Austin’s approach off the field where he has an extremely high GPA in the school of Business here at Laurier.

In other star player news, we are anxiously awaiting the East/West Bowl All-Stars to be announced. This is the CIS all-star game in May for student athletes that have just finished their third year. The game this year will once again happen at McGill University in Montreal on Saturday, May 14th. As soon as the rosters are released, we will be sure to communicate with you which Laurier players that will be participating.

The 17th Annual Friends of Golden Hawk Football Reception and Dinner

Presented once again by Sun Life Financial the dinner will be held Thursday, April 28th at Bingemans Conference Centre in Kitchener, Ontario.

Paul Giannelia is the keynote speaker. Paul is the President and CEO of SC Infrastructure and he was also the Project Director of Canada’s Confederation Bridge

We are excited that this year we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1991 Vanier Cup winning team. To attend this great event you can purchase your tickets/table here:

A big part of our football dinner is our silent auction. If you have something for the auction that you would be willing to donate please let us know. Anything from sporting event tickets, golf rounds, sports paraphernalia, etc. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Congrats Coach Peter Campbell

Congrats to Laurier Men’s Basketball Coach Peter Campbell on an outstanding career in coaching. Coach Campbell has coached in the OUA for 31 years, the last 16 of which have been behind the Golden Hawks bench here at Laurier.

Our goal at the beginning of the year of surpassing $33,000 has been accomplished. Thank you to all that have helped us reach this goal. It helps our program greatly and we are closing the gap with the OUA’s top teams.
