Laurier football weekly update

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

Thank you to all that took part in our 17th Annual Friends of Golden Hawk Football Reception and Dinner presented Sun Life Financial (list of dinner attendees). With your help we were able to raise over $45,000 for the football program.

It was a fun evening emceed by Andy Baechler where we honoured two great Laurier Football Teams 1966 & 1991 and we also had a fun round-table discussion with four of our alumni currently playing in the CFL: Courtney Stephen of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Shamawd Chambers of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Shane Herbert of the Toronto Argonauts and Ese Mrabure-Ajufo from the BC Lions.

High School Football Camps
Our High School Football Camps are this weekend. Junior Day (Grades 9 & 10) will be Saturday May 7th, Senior Day (Grades 11 & 12) will be held on Sunday May 8th.

The Ontario prospects challenge football games were this past weekend in Hamilton at Tim Horton’s Field. Our staff was able to identify and speak with some very talented players for the 2017 recruiting class and beyond.
