Laurier football weekly update

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

We are off to a good start in our fundraising for the program and have completed one month of our yearly fiscal.

As I mentioned in last week’s newsletter we are going to be completely transparent with our fundraising this year. When we complete a month, I will simply update all of you where we stand in terms of our amount raised in the various areas and also list the generous supporters who have graciously donated to our program that month.

We have made some good progress in May and, collectively, we can reach our targets in the next 11 months.

Here’s what is happening:

Game Tickets Now Available
Please help us fill our stands this year by purchasing tickets to our 4 regular season home games. This year we host: Queens, York, Waterloo and Guelph.

Excited to add three new commits: Connor Knight, Bryce Bell and Michael Rose-Headley.

CFL Professional Development
Our coaches have been busy this week getting some professional development from CFL teams that are in training camp. Dwayne Cameron is out in camp with the Calgary Stampeders, Irv Daymond spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Mark Surya and I were watching the Toronto Argonauts. It’s great to get ideas in terms of plays and systems, but it is also just as valuable seeing the structure of practice and the tempo.
