Laurier Football is very excited to announce the commitments of a pair of Hamilton area recruits: 6’4″ 195lb CFC Top 100 quarterback Connor Carusello (McKinnon Park HS in Caledonia) and 6’4″ 235lb defensive lineman John O’Reilly (Corpus Christie HS in Burlington).
Carusello has been on Laurier’s recruiting radar for two years now and has developed a great relationship with the coaching staff at the Golden Hawks High School Football Camps. Laurier Head Coach Michael Faulds commented how “Connor has all the physical tools to be a good OUA quarterback.”
“He throws the football with very little effort and he can make every single throw on the big Canadian football field,” said Faulds.
O’Reilly comes to Laurier as a highly-regarded defensive end in this year’s class.
Laurier Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Cameron described O’Reilly as “a coach’s dream”.
“The intensity and effort that he plays with is a predictor of future success. His talent is obvious, but the motor he plays with is special,” said Cameron, adding “He’ll come in at the end position, but his long-term future position on the defensive line is dependent on how much he grows.”
O’Reilly will study in Laurier’s highly acclaimed Lazaridis School Of Business.
