Laurier football weekly update

20161119-kha-vo-uteck-bowl-2016_-6Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

We have continued the momentum from the season into this off-season. Our players are working-out and preparing for their final exams which will happen in the next three weeks.

Our coaches and scouts are also keeping very busy, finding the best student-athletes from around the country to join our team for 2017. With the high school seasons being over, our focus has turned to getting recruits and their parents to our campus. These visits include a full campus tour, a meeting with their academic program of choice and many conversations with our coaching staff.

Here’s what is happening:

U Sports All Canadians
We have four U Sports All-Canadians this year: (First Team) linebacker Nakas Onyeka, defensive backs Malcolm Thompson and Godfrey Onyeka, (Second Team) defensive lineman Kwaku Boateng.

Recruiting
It was a busy week at the OFSAA Bowls at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton.

Our team of coaches and scouts were able to see 18 teams compete over three days and we were able to speak with many very talented student athletes.
