Laurier Football is very excited to bring Kavantye Bailey into the 2017 recruiting class.
Bailey is a dynamic performer who can line up at the tailback spot in the backfield and also has the skill set to excel in the slot back position on offense, as well in the return game.
He is an open-field runner with tremendous vision and cutting ability. He will be a nightmare for defenses to corral when he has the ball in his hand.
Bailey comes to Laurier as one of the most highly recruited players in the country.
“Kavantye was in high demand for good reason and our program is that much better with him in the locker room,” said Recruiting Coordinator Dwayne Cameron.
In terms of his plans for his newest offensive weapon, Head Coach Michael Faulds said that “the sky is the limit.”
“He can do so many different things. The key is for us to create opportunities for him in as many different ways as we can. He is special with the ball.”
Bailey ultimately decided on Laurier because he wanted to be somewhere that he “could enjoy all the days of the year that I’m not playing football. Laurier is that place.”
In terms of what it was that he liked about the football program the most, Bailey said “it felt like more of a family, and not just a team.”
