Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,
We’re just two weeks away from the start of training camp! Our whole team is getting ready and excited to report to camp on Thursday, August 10th.
We will have a week of practices, alternating two-a-day practice days with power practice days (one practice but longer) and then we will board the buses and head to Montreal to play a preseason game against Concordia University on Friday, August 18th at 2pm.
We are extremely happy with the depth we have at all positions and, despite losing some very talented players every year to graduation (and the CFL draft), it is definitely not a matter of starting over, but just reloading and getting even better.
Out of 25 starting positions (including the kicker), we return 20 starters and, in those five places where the starter has moved on, we have players that have significant game action.
Internal goals for our team have remained the same since 2013, and that is to win the Yates and Vanier Cup.
We were criticized at times for putting too much pressure on ourselves, but as I always say, if you are mentally wired correctly there is no outside pressure that could be placed on us that is greater than our own.
Here’s what is happening:
Legacy Fund – $322,966.10 and counting!
The time is now to help us have sustained success!
2017 Laurier Football Adopt-A-Hawk – $4,100 and counting!
Please adopt one of our players.
