Laurier football weekly update

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

Are you ready for playoff football?

The match-up is set and our Hawks play host to the McMaster Marauders this Saturday November 4th, 1pm at University Stadium.

While on the bye week we were unsure who our opponent would be, but we had a great week of meetings and practices and just focused on the finer details, different scenarios that come up in big games and concentrated on Laurier systems. We then all sat back and watched the games on Saturday and, with McMaster’s 12-9 victory over the Queen’s Gaels, the match-up was set.

McMaster is a very talented team led on offence by QB Jackson White, RB Jordan Lyons and WR Daniel Petermann.

On defence, they are as good as it gets and really like to bring pressure. the unit is led by DE Mark Mackie, LBs Jake Heathcote and Eric Mezzalira and DB Robbie Yochim.

The outcome from two weeks ago means nothing and our players are being reminded of that every single day. McMaster will be eager to avenge the regular season loss here.
