Laurier football weekly update

TakeFlight2018_imageGolden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

The live 2018 Laurier Football recruiting announcement is today (Friday April 6th) at 5pm in the Senate & Board Room here on campus.

For those of you that cannot attend, please tune-in for the live stream on at 5pm.

Spring Camp
Just like that, the 2018 Spring Camp has come and gone. Thumbs-up to our players and staff for all working tirelessly this off-season. Everyone was extremely committed to getting better and that is exactly what we have done, both individually and as a greater whole.

Spring Camp concluded with a great combined practice with the Waterloo Warriors and here are some photos from that practice.

The players now shift gears and focus on their final exams, which start this weekend. Then the summer is just as busy as the student-athletes have summer jobs, many stay to take classes on campus and (of course) a full workout plan, which begins in the middle of May.

Here’s what is happening:

Athletic Banquet

Congrats to all the athletes at last night’s Laurier Athletic Banquet.

As a team, we did very well as receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. took home the President’s Award for male athlete of the year.

Defensive back Scott Hutter won the Luke Fusco Academic Athletic Achievement Award and student trainer Curtis Richards won the Marty Wamsley Student Trainer of the Year Award. READ MORE
