Laurier football weekly update

This newsletter is brought to you by our great friends (and the best movers) AMJ Campbell.

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

The U Sports football season just concluded two weekends ago in Quebec City, but we are already excited to look ahead at the 2019 schedule which was just released this past week.

Some things we, as coaches, look for right away are our two non-combatants – which will be McMaster and Guelph. Our bye week is also right in the middle of the season, which is great!

We get to host rival Western in Week #1 and the always-exciting Homecoming game is Saturday September 28th against the Queen’s Gaels. For more details on the schedule click here.

Final practices of 2018
We had five extra practices after the season and it was great for the development of so many of our young players. On the fifth and final practice, we ran our annual Burger Bowl (live scrimmage) which was about 70 plays of offence versus defence in the snow.

Recruiting class update
We are thrilled to say that we have three great commits already and should have a few more in the coming weeks:

6’7”, 265 lb Offensive Lineman Cooper Hamilton from Barrie
6’1”, 220 lb Running Back Mekhi Hyman from Toronto
6’1” 205 lb Full Back Jordan Brubacher from Cambridge
