Laurier Football Update – November 2019

The recruiting season is into full swing as we look to add some great new Student Athletes to Laurier Football for the 2020 season. This past week was the conclusion to the high school season as it was the OFSAA Bowl games in Hamilton. Over three days we got to see 18 of the provinces best teams play and many university prospects.

Our 2020 recruiting class is coming together nicely as we have commits from ten outstanding Student Athletes:

Keyon Gratton – 6’4” 280lb Defensive Tackle from St. Mary’s in Kitchener

Zack Burmaster – 6’3” 210lb Receiver from St. Thomas More in Hamilton

Jared Weiler – 6’1” 185lb Defensive Back from Resurrection in Waterloo

Josh Rietveld – 6’5” 275lb Offensive Lineman from Assumption in Brantford

Malik Blout – 6’5” 235lb Defensive End from Sir Allan MacNab in Hamilton

Tyresse Griffith – 5’11” 180lb Running Back from St. David’s in Waterloo

Chidera Ubosi – 6’6” 235lb Defensive Lineman from Abbey Park in Oakville

Jason MacGougan – 5’11” 215lb Long Snapper from M.M. Robinson in Burlington

Avery Scott – 5’10” 205lb Running Back from David Suzuki in Brampton

Trent Hunter – 6’0″ 180lb Receiver from A.N. Myer in Niagara Falls

OUA All-Stars – 10 Golden Hawks Receiving All-Star Status

o   Congrats to our 10 All-Stars! Great recognition as these are voted by the OUA Head Coaches.


1st Team All-Canadian – RB Levondre Gordon

o   Special time in Quebec City last week as 5th year RB Levondre Gordon was recognized as a 1st Team All-Canadian Running Back.
