Definitely a lot of negativity in the world these days, but we can honestly say that it was a positive and very productive winter semester for our Laurier Football program. As our players enter exams next week, it is a nice time to reflect and look back on everything they have accomplished this year.
In mostly a virtual world we have had: 12 team meetings, 11 offensive & defensive meetings, numerous positional meetings, 31 home workouts and 8 pod practices. Through it all everyone has brought energy and a desire to improve in everything.
A big part of our weekly team meetings and honestly the highlight of the week has been our phenomenal alumni guest speakers. Take a look at the star-studded lineup of speakers we’ve had and the terrific topics our players and staff have learned a lot from.

o Excited to say that we will be virtually announcing our Legends of Laurier Football and having a silent auction in May.

· Laurier Football Cultural Build
o Players, Coaches, and Staff all went through the exercise this semester of defining our culture and what it means to be a part of our program. Through surveys, group discussions, and individual meetings – everyone’s voice was heard. We are very proud of what we collectively agreed on:
· Beyond February
o We are excited to start a new series celebrating many of the terrific black student athletes we’ve had in the history our football program. Every month on the 29th day please check out our Laurier Football social media outlets for these feature.
o Our very first Beyond February on March 29th was Roan Kane:
· Laurier Football Coaches Clinic
o We had a very successful Coaches Clinic on March 27th with roughly 70 coaches from all over Canada and even a few international coaches.
· CFL Draft May 4th
o OL Bryce Bell & DE Alfred Green have completed their virtual CFL Combine and are anxiously awaiting the CFL Draft on May 4th. We are very proud of how hard they have worked and excited to hopefully hear their names called that evening.
