Irv Daymond has over 40 years of football experience as a Coach and a Player.
Irv joined Coach Faulds’ Laurier Football staff in 2013 as the Offensive Line Coach. Before making the move to Laurier, Coach Daymond spent a year at McGill and six years with the Ottawa Gee Gees in the same capacity.
While Coach Daymond was with McGill, he had the pleasure of coaching Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who is the starting right guard with the Kansas City Chiefs.
As a player, Irv enjoyed a 10 year CFL career playing offensive line for the Ottawa Rough Riders, earning league recognition as a CFL East All-Star in 1991 and 1992. Irv was also the CFL Players Association Offensive Line MVP in 1992, the year the Rough Riders had two 1,000 yard rushers (Reggie Barnes & Damon Allen).
Irv continues to teach his brand of offensive line play at the grassroots level assisting Football Canada and Football Ontario in national and international competitions at the U16-U18 levels.
Irv is a proud grandfather of Smith Rose and a proud father of Michael, Alexandria and Marjorie.
