Jackson Yanchus – Running Backs Coach

Jackson Yanchus has been coaching with the Golden Hawks since 2014 after playing as an offensive lineman for the Hawks in 2012 and 2013.

Coach Yanchus began working as an Assistant Offensive Line Coach, spending two seasons working with Offensive line Coach Irv Daymond. In 2016, Coach Yanchus began coaching Running Backs, Fullbacks and Tight Ends and continues with this role with the Hawks now. In 2017, Coach Yanchus was named Laurier’s Run Game Coordinator and has been responsible for run game scheme and play calling. In that time, the Hawks have had one of the most versatile and diverse run games in the OUA.

Coach Yanchus has also been the Head Coach of The Varsity Cambridge Lions of the OPFL since 2016, where he helped lead the Lions to their first OVFL championship in 2016. Previous to coaching with the Lions, Coach Yanchus coached with the Guelph Junior Gryphons as the Junior Varsity Offensive Coordinator where he played a key role in that organizations first JV OFC Championship in 2015.

During his five seasons of coaching summer football in Ontario, Coach Yanchus has been a Head Coach, Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Coordinators.

Currently, Coach Yanchus is completing a Bachelor of Education at Wilfrid Laurier after graduating with Honours from Laurier’s Bachelor of Kinesiology and Physical Education program in 2015.
