Kerry Martin has been the Video Coordinator for Laurier Football since 2007. In that time, he has led the transition of Coaches Film from VHS tapes to a modern, scalable video analysis and teaching solution.
In his role, he ensures that the coaching staff and players have the technology and tools they need to pursue excellence on the field. Notable technology accomplishments include the implementation of professional football video solutions from DVSport and SkyCoach. These tools give coaches extensive data analysis capabilities, teaching tools and live in-game video replay. The DVSport solution also gives coaches and players access to game film anytime and in more meaningful ways.
Kerry works with all OUA teams to elevate league video resources and game film exchange while continuously updating his skills, knowledge and contacts for better personal performance. He relies heavily on a wonderful team of video assistants in order to coordinate all practice, in game and out of season filming; video exchange, game data input and in-game technology needs. Several assistants have moved on to work in sport management and CFL video positions after their experiences with the Laurier Football video staff.
In 2014, Kerry received the Earl C. Shelley Unsung Hero Award from Laurier Athletics for his behind the scenes work with Football.
Kerry is also the General Merchandise Manager in Retail Services at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is responsible for all things purple and gold as well as other products and services that support students in all campus store locations.
In his personal life, Kerry and his wife Heidi live near Waterloo with their five children: Brady (11), Carter (9), Summer (7), Tanner (5) and Lily (2).
