Marcello Simmons – Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs

Marcello Simmons joins the Laurier Football staff this year and has a wealth of knowledge as both a player and coach.

Coach Simmons comes from the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) where he was the special teams coordinator for three years. Since 2005 Simmons has been a coach with five professional teams and three U SPORTS teams, including the Toronto Argos of the CFL where he won a Grey Cup with the team in 2004 as the special teams coordinator.

Simmons not only brings a wealth of coaching knowledge but playing experience as well. From 1995 to 2001 Simmons played for the Argos, Edmonton Elks and BC Lions and became a two-time Grey Cup Champion.
