Matt Fischer has been the Head Football Equipment Manager at Wilfrid Laurier since 2013 and the year prior to that he was the assistant.
Since taking over the Equipment Manager role, he has worked to provide our players with the best possible equipment on a yearly basis. Each season focusing on making sure our players are safe and well looked after by purchasing some of the latest and greatest in equipment and uniforms.
He takes great pride in making our team look their best on a weekly basis with different uniform combinations and helmet designs.
Prior to working as the Football Equipment Manager, Matt Fischer was an offensive lineman with Wilfrid Laurier for two years. After a career-ending concussion, he decided to stay involved and focus on making sure our players were as safe as possible, while looking their best at the same time.
Matt played football for 14 years prior to hanging up his cleats and has been an integral part of rebuilding Laurier to its former glory. Originally from Brampton, he ventured out to Montreal, QC for two years attending CEGEP at Vanier College and was the Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2009.
In his personal life, Matt Fischer and his fiancé Esthera live in Kitchener and are expecting a baby and a wedding within the next year.
