We are extremely excited about adding a quarterback as talented as Tristan at the start of this 2016 recruiting class.

Tristan has played at the highest levels in Ontario. He plays at one of the best high school’s in A.B. Lucas in London and won an OFSSA Bowl last year, he is the QB for one of the top OVFL teams in the London JR Mustangs and he was a member of the 2014 Team Ontario team that won Gold in Saskatoon.

Laurier Football is excited to announce that former CFC Top 100 WR Josh Perez is the newest member of the Golden Hawks.

A top level talent, Perez was a member of IDFFL’s Team Canada touring team that competed in 7v7 National Championships at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

As a high school player, Josh may have been the most dominant WR in the GTA while starring at Lorne Park High School in Mississauga. Perez is 6’2 195pds and will begin participating with the Hawks in January 2016.

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

A poor performance on both sides of the ball against a very good opponent and we ended up with the score we deserved 59-9. We have corrected the film and the coaches/players are learning from the mistakes. The bye week has come at a very good time as we can get healthier after a very tough start to the season on the injury front. We also recognize that the two toughest teams in our conference are behind us and we can look to gain momentum and unlike last year try and peak as a team late in the year. This bye week will be used to get better in all aspects and to recapture the confidence leading into Homecoming.

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

Not the final score and outcome we wanted (30-19), but I am pleased with the way we fought to the very end against a quality opponent. Things don’t get easier as we quickly need to re-group, have a great week of practice and get ready for Western who comes to town for our home opener Saturday night at 7:30pm

Offense – It was a very slow start offensively and we didn’t really get anything going until the 3rd quarter. Ultimately, turnovers were the deciding factor like they are in most football games. Guelph was out to stop Dillon Campbell in the running game, so we had to find other ways to get him the ball in space and that was through the air where Dillon was our leading receiver on the day and finished with 67 yards rushing and 104 yards receiving.

We also had some other standout performance by receivers: Carson Ouellette with 8 catches for 82 yards and Daniel Bennett with 5 catches for 62 yards and a TD. James Fracas would love to have some plays back, but he battled all day through injury and finished 32 of 45 for 318 yards.
