We are saddened by the news of the passing of Laurier football alum and former Waterloo Warriors Head Coach Chris Triantafilou. Chris was such a big part of football in the Kitchener-Waterloo community for so many years, both as a player and a coach.

Last Saturday we simply didn’t accomplish what we set out to do. We are now right in the middle of the OUA standings at 2-2 after a 21-20 loss to McMaster. We will look to rebound this weekend at our Homecoming game against the 2-3 Guelph Gryphons Saturday at 1pm at University Stadium.

Kwaku Boateng is playing with a huge chip on his shoulder this season.

The Edmonton Eskimos defensive lineman has registered a team-best five sacks in his first full campaign as a CFL starter. That’s heady stuff for a second-year player but especially impressive considering Edmonton took Boateng in the fifth round of the 2-17 CFL draft.

That’s also what’s fuelling the former Wilfrid Laurier star. Each time Boateng steps on to the field, he wants to prove to opposing teams they erred in not selecting him.
