The date was January 3, the first day of school, when I found out that I had been invited to the CFL National Scouting Combine presented by adidas. My teammate, Godfrey Onyeka had messaged myself and my other teammate, Isaiah Guzylak-Messam, in a group chat at 7 a.m. Safe to say, it was definitely better than any good morning text I’d ever received. At the moment, I was filled with excitement and validation that I was considered one of the top players from across the country.

Golden Hawk alumni & friends of the football program,

Last week was the best week of the off-season. The players tested in the gym and the energy at practice was fantastic.

We had two Hard Hat Award recipients and they both have a lot in common; they are both in first year, they are lineman, they are naturally quiet and lead by example, they are terrific students and they both had over 400lb squats on testing day.
