Zach Scotto – Offensive Line Coach

Zach Scotto is entering his fifth season as a member of Laurier’s coach staff.  This season will be his second as the Offensive Line Coach.  Prior to this role, he held the title of Assistant Offensive Line Coach for three years.  In addition to his on-field duties, Coach Scotto has a leading role in the team’s academic tracking program.  As an Academic Advisor for the program, Coach Scotto has weekly meetings with players around academic progress, academic skills, time management, mental well-being, and many other things that factor into being a top-notch student-athlete.

Coach Scotto is also the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach for the Senior Varsity Cambridge Lions in the OPFL.  He has coached with the Lions for five years, winning a provincial championship in 2016.  In his five years with the Lions, Coach Scotto has had 14 Offensive Lineman move on to join USports programs.

In addition to his coaching roles with the Golden Hawks and the Lions, Coach Scotto is a two-time graduate of Laurier.  He was a member of Laurier’s Football Team from 2011-2014, earning a BA Honours Kinesiology in that time.  He is also a 2019 graduate of Laurier’s Bachelor of Education program.

Prior to beginning his days at Laurier, Coach Scotto represented Western Ontario on two occasions at the Canada Cup and played for Saugeen District Secondary School in Port Elgin.

Outside of coaching, Coach Scotto is an elementary teacher in Waterloo Region.
